Buying good equipment, refurbishing to specified standards, and selling to businesses needing reliable systems was the logical basis on which Computer Renaissance was designed in 1988. Rick Frost and Chuck Welle got things going in Minneapolis, then Grow Biz International acquired the concept with the vision of a national retail chain. In August 2000 Hollis Technologies bought Computer Renaissance to expand the refurbished computer market, and elevate the company to top-of-mind awareness as a national retail computer solution by adding a high level of customer service and options for high quality custom built computers.
